How to Block and Unblock IP Addresses in cPanel

If you want to protect your website from malicious traffic, spam bots, or unwanted visitors, you can easily restrict access by blocking specific IP addresses or entire IP ranges using the cPanel IP Blocker tool.

Step 1 – Access the IP Blocker in cPanel

  1. Log into your HostGete cPanel account.
  2. Scroll down to the Security section.
  3. Click on the IP Blocker icon.

Step 2 – Block an IP Address or IP Range

Once you are on the IP Blocker page, you can specify which IP addresses should be denied access to your website.

  • Enter the IP: In the IP Address or Domain field, enter the specific IP address or the IP range you wish to block.
    • Example of Single IP: 192.168.0.1
    • Example of Range: 192.168.0.1-192.168.0.255
  • Click on the Add button.

Success! Once added, cPanel will immediately block all incoming connections from that IP or range, and they will no longer be able to access your website or its resources.

Step 3 – Unblock an IP Address (Re-enable Access)

If you ever need to restore access for a previously blocked user, you can easily remove them from the block list.

  1. Navigate back to the IP Blocker section in cPanel.
  2. Scroll down to the Currently-Blocked IP Addresses table at the bottom of the page.
  3. Find the IP address or range you want to unblock and click on the Delete button next to it.
  4. Confirm the removal on the next screen.

After removing it from the list, access will be fully restored, and visitors from that IP or range will be able to browse your website normally once again.
